Biography

Shipping News was an American post-rock and post-hardcore band formed in 1996 in the United States. The group consisted of Jason Noble on bass/vocals, Jeff Mueller on guitar/vocals, and Kyle Crabtree on drums. Their initial collaboration began when Noble and Mueller, both members of Rodan, created music for the National Public Radio program This American Life. In 2004, Todd Cook joined as a bassist. The band released their debut album, Save Everything, in 1997 via Quarterstick Records. They followed with several EPs and albums, including Flies the Fields (2005) and One Less Heartless To Fear (2010). Notable appearances include the Louisville installment of Burn to Shine, a DVD series produced by Brendan Canty and Christoph Green. In 2009, Noble passed away in 2012 at the age of 40.
