Sunship is an English record producer and jazz pianist born as Ceri Evans in the United Kingdom. Evans achieved professional recognition for a musical career that began in 1981 as a member of the jazz-funk ensemble Swamp Children. Their recording career included the studio recording So Hot (1982) released on the label Factory Records. Evans achieved professional recognition for performing as a member of the acid jazz ensemble the Brand New Heavies between 1985 and 1992. He achieved professional recognition for assuming the stage name Sunship and transitioning to the dance music scene.
