Biography
Selma Segal, known professionally as Sunny Gale, and born on February 20, 1927, in Clayton, New Jersey, was a pop singer. She began her career as a singer at an early age, performing under the stage name Sunny Gale by August 1948. In 1951, Gale secured a recording contract with Derby Records and released "Wheel of Fortune", which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. She subsequently signed with RCA Victor in 1952, releasing several nationally charting singles including "I Laughed at Love" (1952) and "Teardrops on My Pillow" (1954). Gale performed at notable venues such as Palumbo's entertainment complex and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. In mid-1956, she signed with Decca Records but struggled to regain her earlier chart success. She appeared on the Dorsey Brothersâ stage TV show in 1956. Gale passed away in Florida in 2022.
