Sugardrive was a South African rock group formed in 1994. The band's sound shifted from riff-heavy alternative rock to an eclectic sound incorporating electronica, dance music, and jazz. Their debut album Hey God... It's Me Again was released in 1995. In 1996, the EP Snapshots marked a transition into trance-pop territory, expanded upon in the subsequent album Sand.Man.Sky (1997). Their most popular release, When I Died I Was Elvis (1999), included notable songs like "Soul" and "At Home". Sugardrive headlined major South African festivals, toured Australia on the Big Day Out tour, and won three South African Music Awards out of five nominations. The band disbanded in April 2001.
