Veli-Matti "Läjä" Ãijälä, born on September 29, 1958 in Finland, is a musician known for his multifaceted career. He is best known as the singer and primary songwriter of Terveet Kädet, a hardcore punk band. In 2004, he released Passions of Läjä Ãijälä, a compilation album featuring music from Terveet Kädet and eight side projects. His side projects include work with bands like synthpop band Leo Bugariloves, rockabilly group Billy Boys, and noise rock band Death Trip. Ãijälä has also worked as a comics artist since the 1980s and released a book of poems. His artwork includes album covers such as Johannes Kastaja by CMX.
