Terra Diablo, a UK musical group originating from Scotland, was formed in 2000 when singers and guitarists Ian Fairclough and Davey McAuley met while working at the same record store. The band's initial breakthrough came with their first single "The Smoke", released on November 18, 2002. Terra Diablo released their debut album, Terra Diablo, on July 5, 2004, via Zuma Recordings. The following year, original guitarist Paul Wilson left the band to join Snow Patrol. Terra Diablo supported notable acts such as Biffy Clyro, Snow Patrol, Hundred Reasons, Six by Seven, and Idlewild, and performed at major festivals including Reading and Leeds Festivals and T in the Park. Their second album, Deluge Songs, produced by Jeremy Parker, was released on September 18, 2007, on Nocturnal Records. The band was managed by Jez Hindmarsh, drummer for Swervedriver, starting in early 2006.
