Biography

Nathan Mahl, a Canadian progressive rock band with jazz fusion elements, was formed in Ottawa, Ontario in December 1981. The original lineup included keyboardist Guy LeBlanc, Donald Prince, Mark Spénard, and Dan Lacasse. Their first album Parallel Eccentricities was released in 1983. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Nathan Mahl experienced multiple lineup changes and periods of inactivity. In 1997, they re-released their debut album on CD through Mahl Productions. The band's breakthrough came with the release of The Clever Use of Shadows in 1999, which led to an invitation to perform at NEARfest that same year. The band also notably performed at FMPM in 2007. Guy LeBlanc, a key member of the band, passed away in 2015.
