Strike Anywhere, an American punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia, was formed in 1999 by Thomas Barnett, Matt Smith, Eric Kane, and Garth Petrie. The band's early releases included the EPs Chorus of One and Bread or Revolution. Their breakthrough came with the release of their studio album, Change Is a Sound, in 2001, which featured the notable song "Refusal" from the soundtrack of the video game Tony Hawk's Underground. The band signed with Jade Tree for their early albums and later moved to Fat Wreck Chords. Strike Anywhere released several successful albums, including Exit English (2003), Dead FM (2006), Iron Front (2009), and the EP Nightmares of the West (2020).
