Biography

The Bouncing Souls, an American punk rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey, formed in 1989. The founding members, Greg Attonito, Pete Steinkopf, and Bryan Kienlen, grew up in Basking Ridge before relocating to New Brunswick to join the local music scene. The group released their debut studio album, The Good, the Bad, and the Argyle, in 1994, followed by Maniacal Laughter in 1996. In 1997, they signed with Epitaph Records and issued the self-titled album The Bouncing Souls, which included the songs “Cracked” and “Kate is Great”. Michael McDermott replaced drummer Shal Khichi in 2000, performing on recordings including How I Spent My Summer Vacation (2001), Anchors Aweigh (2003), and The Gold Record (2006). In 2013, George Rebelo replaced McDermott. The band subsequently released the studio albums Comet (2012), Simplicity (2016), Volume 2 (2020), and Ten Stories High (2023). In 2025, the group released the singles “United” and “Power”.
