He began his career as a DJ and musician, making significant contributions to the electronic music scene. His breakthrough came with the release of "Teknoragga" in 1991, which showcased his innovative "Double Time" MCing style. He continued to gain recognition with notable tracks such as "Hear The Vibes" and "Junglist Soldier." His debut album, The Next Step, was posthumously released on Island Records in 1999, marking the first major-label release for a drum and bass MC. Stevie Hyper D. passed away on July 5, 1998, from a heart attack.
