Biography

Born on April 4, 1948 in Newton, Virginia, Squire Parsons is a gospel singer who was a member of the Kingsmen between 1975 and 1979, in addition to a long solo career. Renowned for his powerful voice and his own compositions, he is best known for the hymn "Sweet Beulah Land", taken from his first solo album, released in 1979. Numerous other recordings followed throughout the 1980s to 2015. Retired from the stage in 2019, Squire Parsons died on May 5, 2025, at the age of 77.
