Biography

The Bill Gaither Trio, an American gospel music group, was formed in 1955 and originally consisted of siblings Bill, Danny, and Mary Ann Gaither. The trio began singing at churches and religious events in Indiana. In 1962, after Danny left to pursue teaching, Gloria Gaither joined the group. By 1966, Danny had rejoined, but the lineup continued to evolve over the years, with notable members including Gary McSpadden and Michael English. The Bill Gaither Trio released numerous albums, such as He Touched Me (1964), Because He Lives (1971), and Hymn Classics (1990). They received significant recognition, including two Grammy Awards and 17 Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association. The group was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 1999. Bill Gaither Trio disbanded in 1991.
