Biography

Gold City, an American southern gospel quartet, was formed in 1980 in Gadsden, Alabama. The group initially consisted of Bob Oliver, Jerry Ritchie, Ken Trussell, and Dallas Gilliland, who were later joined by Tim Riley as the permanent bass singer. Gold City's breakthrough came with their appearance on the main stage of the National Quartet Convention in October 1981. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the quartet charted ten Number One hits in Singing News magazine. The group released several albums including The Very Best of Gold City (2002), Somebody's Coming (2011), and Hymn Revival (2014). Over the years, Gold City underwent numerous lineup changes. The group continues to perform and record, maintaining a significant presence in the southern gospel music scene.
