German Eurodance and pop duo, Sqeezer, was formed in 1995 by Jim Reeves. The group initially consisted of Reeves and Yvonne Spath, who later left to pursue other projects. Sqeezer released their debut single "Scandy Randy" produced by the Berman Brothers, followed by the album Drop Your Pants in 1996. This period saw the addition of dancer Tee Jay, transforming the group into a trio. Their unique sound, blending Eurodance, reggae fusion, and pop with 1950s samples, gained traction with hits like "Blue Jeans" and "Sweet Kisses", the latter reaching Number 1 in the Spanish Single Chart. In October 1996, Sqeezer supported Worlds Apart on their "Everybody Tour." The group's success continued with releases such as "Tamagotchi (Tschoopapa...)", the official Tamagotchi song, and collaborations like "Get It Right" with Bed & Breakfast. In 1998, they released Streetlife, marking a shift to a more mature sound that included pop, reggae fusion, hip hop, funk, and soul elements. Notable singles from this period include "Without You", which peaked at number 10 in the German Single Chart, and "Wishing You Were Here". The group underwent several lineup changes, with Reeves remaining a constant member, however on February 1, 2016, he was found dead in Berlin.
