Biography

Anticappella is an Italian eurodance group founded by Gianfranco Bortolotti in 1991. The band made its debut on the eurodance scene with the single "2√231" in 1991, which reached number 24 on the Official Singles Chart in the United Kingdom. This was followed by the release of the single "Every Day" later that year, which peaked at number 45 on the UK chart, rather than an album release. In 1994, Anticappella achieved further chart success with the singles "Move Your Body", which peaked at number 21 in the United Kingdom, and "Express Your Freedom", reaching number 31. Their last UK chart entry was a double single featuring remixes of "2√231" and "Move Your Body", released in 1996. The group disbanded in 1998 but briefly reunited in 2009 to release six new singles, including the 2009 digital release "Get Faster". Anticappella's music was characterized by its upbeat rhythms and catchy melodies, which were typical of the eurodance genre popular in the 1990s. The group's success was largely driven by their ability to create danceable tracks that resonated with club-goers and radio listeners alike.
