Biography

Harajuku is a vocal and dance project founded in 1992 by German producer Ulrich Moorlampen. The group's name is derived from the Harajuku district of Tokyo. Their debut single was a techno-dance cover of "The Phantom of the Opera", featuring German schlager singer Kristina Bach. This release achieved significant international success, reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales Charts in the USA, and achieved considerable worldwide recognition. Harajuku continued to release successful singles and albums, including "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King soundtrack, which also charted on the Billboard dance charts. Stephanie O’Hara became a key vocalist for the project, contributing to their 1995 album Just One Look. Subsequent releases include Come Back and Stay (2007) and Trance Symphony (2010).
