Josephine Hiebel, known professionally as Lian Ross, was born on December 8, 1962, in Hamburg, Germany. She began her music career at age 19 under the name Josy, releasing four singles between 1981 and 1984. In 1985, Hiebel adopted the stage name Lian Ross and achieved her first chart success with "Fantasy", which reached number 22 in Germany. Throughout the late 1980s, she released several more singles, including "Itâs Up to You" which became a moderate hit. In the 1990s, Hiebel worked on various dance projects such as Tears ân Joy and Exotica under different pseudonyms. She continued to release music under her Lian Ross moniker, including covers like "Young Hearts Run Free" in 2009. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with numerous artists and producers, notably Luis Rodriguez who produced many of her solo titles and projects. Her discography includes albums such as I Got The Beat (2013) and And the Beat Goes On (2016), along with various compilations and singles.
