Soichi Terada, born on March 19, 1965, in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese electronic music producer and composer. He began his musical journey playing the electronic organ and majored in computer science at the University of Electro-Communications. In 1987, Terada traveled to New York City, where he was inspired by the city's distinctive sound. Upon returning to Tokyo, he started producing house music and formed Far East Recording with Shinichiro Yokota in 1990. Their first album, Far East Recording, was released in 1992. Terada gained recognition for his work on the soundtrack of the video game series Ape Escape. In 2014, the release of The Far East Transcripts EP sparked renewed interest in his music, leading to the compilation album Sounds from the Far East in 2015 and subsequent tours across Europe and North America.
