Biography

Snotty Nose Rez Kids, also known as SNRK, is a First Nations hip hop duo composed of Haisla rappers Darren "Young D" Metz and Quinton "Yung Trybez" Nyce from Kitamaat Village, British Columbia. The duo began their musical journey during high school when they discovered a shared love for hip-hop. They started recording together under the name Minay Music and released their self-titled debut album Snotty Nose Rez Kids in January 2017. Their second release, The Average Savage, was shortlisted for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize and the Juno Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2019. The duo continued their success with subsequent albums, including Life After (shortlisted for the 2022 Polaris Music Prize), and Red Future, which won the Juno Award for Rap Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2025.
