Biography
Small Brown Bike, an American band from Marshall, Michigan, was formed in 1996. The group's early releases included the EPs No Place Like You and (And Don't Forget Me) (1998), which helped establish their signature sound characterized by "double vocals" backed by melodies. Their debut album, Our Own Wars, was released in 1999 on No Idea Records. Throughout their career, Small Brown Bike toured extensively, including multiple runs with Dead Season between 1999 and 2000 and a tour with Thoughts of Ionesco in 1999. Notable albums include Dead Reckoning (2001) and The River Bed (2003). The band disbanded after their final show at The Fireside Bowl in Chicago in 2004, but reunited for several shows in 2007 to benefit a friend battling leukemia. Guitarist Travis Dopp passed away from cancer on December 13, 2023.
