Rico Pleasant, known as Reek da Villian, was born on December 5, 1989, in Roosevelt, Long Island, New York. He began rapping at age seven and started recording music at 15. In 2006, he met Busta Rhymes, marking the start of his professional career. Reek da Villian gained initial recognition with his appearance on the official remix of "Don't Touch Me (Throw da Water on 'Em)" by Busta Rhymes. He left Flipmode Squad in February 2009 and released his debut album The Gift in 2010. In late 2010, he collaborated with Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beats for the song "Mechanics." Reek da Villian signed to Conglomerate Records in 2011 and released several mixtapes under that label before parting ways.
