Biography
Red Aunts was an American all-female punk band formed in 1991 in Long Beach, California. The group was founded by Terri Wahl, Kerry Davis, and Debi Martini, who began their musical career without formal training. They were joined by drummer Lesley Noelle, who replaced Wahl's former husband, Jon Wahl. The band released their debut single, âThe Red Auntsâ, in 1992, followed by the debut studio album, Drag, in 1993 on Sympathy for the Record Industry. Their raw punk style evolved into a more complex sound on subsequent releases including Bad Motherfucken 40 O-Z and the Epitaph Records albums #1 Chicken and Saltbox. The ensemble issued their final studio album, Ghetto Blaster, in 1998 before disbanding that same year. Following the split, Wahl opened a catering business and restaurant in Los Angeles, while Davis continued to record under the name Two Tears. Martini died in 2019.
