Biography
Purgatory is a death metal band from Nossen, Germany, formed in 1993 by members of Musical Massacre and Procession. Their initial release was the demo Live ⦠Perversion (1993), followed by signing with Perverted Taste and releasing the EP Psychopathia Sexualis (1994). In autumn 1996, they published their first studio album, Damage Done by Worms, and released Bestial in 1997. The band underwent several lineup changes, including the addition of bassist Torsten d'Aprosopy in 1999 and his subsequent replacement by Andy (Warspite) in December 2002. Purgatory released notable albums such as Blessed with Flames of Hate in September 2000 and Luciferianism in August 2004, which was also published as an LP by Miriquidi Productions. In May 2008, they released Cultus Luciferi â The Splendour of Chaos, followed by Necromantaeon (2011), Deathkvlt â Grand Ancient Arts (2013), and Ωmega Void Tribvnal (2016).
