Oskar Gabriel Steinbeck, known professionally as Panda Eyes, was born on May 28, 1996, in Switzerland and is a DJ. He began his career in 2013 by blending elements of chiptune, dubstep, and other bass music genres to create his unique style of glitch-hop. Steinbeck gained initial recognition through releasing singles on YouTube and SoundCloud. In early 2015, he collaborated with German producer Virtual Riot on the song "Superheroes" and later worked with Brighton-based producer Teminite on "Highscore," which surpassed 62 million streams on YouTube. His song "Colorblind" also garnered significant attention, surpassing 45 million views on YouTube. In May 2018, he signed to Disciple Records and released the EP Isolation. However, by the end of December 2018, Steinbeck decided to leave Disciple Records to continue his independent career.
