Biography

Otoboke Beaver, an all-female punk-rock-garage quartet from Kyoto, Japan, was formed in the summer of 2009. The band's members include Accorinrin (lead vocals and guitar), Yoyoyoshie (guitar and vocals), Hiro-chan (bass and vocals), and Kahokiss (drums and vocals), each bringing a dynamic energy to their live performances. Their music is a thrilling blend of garage, punk-rock, and pop, delivered at a frenetic pace with lyrics predominantly in Japanese, using Kyoto slang. The band gained significant traction in 2017, marked by debuts at prestigious venues and festivals such as SXSW and Fuji Rock, critical acclaim from international publications like Pitchfork and NPR, and a successful UK charting 7" single "Love Is Short"(2017). Their notable releases are Okoshiyasu!! Otoboke Beaver (2018), Itekoma Hits (2019), and and Super Champon (2022).
