Biography

The 5.6.7.8's is an all-girl, all-Tokyo rock'n'roll band. Founded in 1986 by two sisters, Sachiko and Yoshiko Fujiyama, drummer and singer-guitarist respectively, they made a name for themselves outside Japan with an astonishing blend of rockabilly, surf and garage rock. An initial period of activity followed the release of their first album in 1991, Can't Help it. Ten years later, they scored a major publicity coup with Quentin Tarantino, who cast them in the film Kill Bill - Volume 1 (2004), where they played the now-famous single "Woo Hoo" from Bomb The Twist (1995). They released "Dororo / Granada Fuzz", with a cover song of Osamu Tezuka's anime "Dororo" on February 21, 2025.
