American songwriter, guitarist and performer Christopher Anthony Lunsford, born in Farmville, Virginia, on June 30, 1992, is known as Oliver Anthony and Oliver Anthony Music. He adopted his grandfather's name as his stage name, in memory of his grandfather's experience of the Great Depression. He launched his career in 2021, recording some twenty singles in three years, blending country and folk and their derivatives with the roots of American music history. He enjoyed great success on social networks with titles such as "Ain't Gotta Dollar", ranked #82 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022, "Rich Man's Gold", "I Want to Go Home" (#27 on the country charts in 2023) and above all "Rich Men North of Richmond",#1 on the Hot 100 and country charts (#23 in the UK). In 2025, his debut album Hymnal of a Troubled Man's Mind recapped the highlights of his debut, and included his new hit "Scornful Woman". It also includes recited passages from the Bible between songs.
