Biography

Josef "Pepe" Ederer, Gerd Gudera, and Walter Leykauf rose to fame after winning a contest on Peter Frankenfeld's show on Bayerischer Rundfunk, leading to their first contract. In 1959, they released a German version of "Tom Dooley" by The Kingston Trio, topping sales charts for seven weeks. In 1965, they created "Aber dich gibt’s nur einmal für mich" which became a schlager classic, covered by artists like Stefanie Hertel and Die Flippers. The Nilsen Brothers disbanded in 1972 but reformed with new members, releasing an album in 2005 that included new versions of their hits.
