New Build, a British electronic music band based in London, was formed in 2010 by Hot Chip members Al Doyle and Felix Martin, along with composer Tom Hopkins. The trio began their musical journey together at Lanark Studios, where they recorded early compositions such as "The Stone That The Builder Rejected" under the artist name "Lanark." In September 2011, New Build released their first public track, a free download entitled "Finding Reasons," and established their independent record label, Lanark Recordings. Their debut album, Yesterday Was Lived And Lost, was released in March 2012, followed by the EP Your Love in December of the same year. In 2014, they released their second full-length album, Pour It On, which included the single "The Sunlight." The band undertook several tours, including a headline tour in March 2012 and performances at notable festivals such as SXSW and Britweek Festival.
