Kling Klang is an experimental rock band from Liverpool, formed in 1999. The three-piece band has evolved over the years, undergoing several changes of members. Taking their name from the Kling Klang studios created by Kraftwerk, the band began by using cheap synthesizers and old drum machines for their first home-made productions. After recording the tracks "Untitled@33rpm" (featured on Guided Missile's Liverpool EP, 2000) and "Rocker/Vander" (2001), Kling Klang became a quintet with the addition of a drummer and new keyboardists. The same year, they released a single entitled "Nexus/Apex", exploring drone sounds, repetition and melody. In June 2002, together with German performance artist Mister B, they presented the Esthetik of Destruction show in a Liverpool warehouse, with 14 TV sets transformed to create visual effects. This was also the title of the compilation released in 2006 by Rock Action Records. Following the release of The Superposition EP, Kling Klang toured as support act for Mogwai in the UK in 2003, then took a three-year break. Back on stage in December 2006, the band toured two years later with Portishead, before returning to anonymity until 2025, with the release of several singles and the original debut album Half Life on Wrong Speed Records.
