Neoton FamÃlia, a Hungarian pop group, was founded in 1965 by László Pásztor and Lajos Galácz. Their breakthrough came in 1968 when they won the talent show Who Knows What? with "Nekem eddig Bach volt a mindenem". In 1971, they released their first album, Bolond város. After collaborating with girl band Kócbabák and releasing Menedékház in 1976, Neoton FamÃlia began touring socialist countries. Their international breakthrough came in 1979 with the release of Napraforgó, which became a hit in multiple countries including Japan, Denmark, and the Philippines. The single "Santa Maria" reached Number 1 in Hungary and topped charts in Spain and Japan. In 1980, they released Marathon, featuring the song "Marathon", written for the Moscow Olympiad '80. Neoton FamÃlia toured extensively, including a 42-city tour in Japan in 1981. The band received the Most Outstanding Performance Award at the 8th International Seoul Song Festival in 1986 for their song "Love is magic". In 1990, following the death of Péter ErdÅs, the band dissolved.
