Biography
Moon Duo, a psychedelic rock band from San Francisco, California, was formed in 2009 by Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada. Their initial release was the 12" "Love on the Sea", followed by the EP Killing Time on Sacred Bones Records. The duo's debut album, Escape, was released under Woodsist Records in 2010. In 2011, they released their subsequent full-length album, Mazes, under Sacred Bones Records, followed by Circles in 2012 and included a remix album the following year. In 2013, Moon Duo recruited John Jeffrey as a live drummer. They released several albums including Shadow of the Sun (2015) and Occult Architecture Vol. 1 & 2 (2017).
