Biography

Kyle Thomas, born 1983 in Brattleboro, Vermont, is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who performs as King Tuff. After learning guitar from a Fender Stratocaster given by his father, he released a self‑made CD‑R that evolved into the debut album Was Dead (2007). Signed to Sub Pop Records, he issued King Tuff (2012), which reached Number 21 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, followed by Black Moon Spell (2014) that debuted at Number 1 on the same chart and topped CMJ College Radioplay. Subsequent releases include The Other (2018), Smalltown Stardust (2023), and MOO (2026). Singles such as "Screaming Skull" (2012) and "Smalltown Stardust" (2022) charted on college radio, and he toured the United States, Australia, and Europe while collaborated with Ty Segall.
