Biography

Dead Meadow, an American psychedelic rock band, was formed in Washington, D.C., in 1998 by vocalist and guitarist Jason Simon. The group initially included Steve Kille on bass and Mark Laughlin on drums. Their debut album, Dead Meadow, was released in 2000 on Tolotta Records, followed by Howls from the Hills in 2001. In 2003, the band signed with Matador Records and released Shivering King And Others. In 2005, they added a second guitarist, Cory Shane, for the release of Feathers, which included songs featured on episodes of the television series The Wire. The band's ninth studio album, Voyager To Voyager, was released in 2025, posthumously featuring bass parts from Steve Kille who died on April 18, 2024.
