Biography
Michael Gungor, born September 14, 1980, in Wisconsin, is an American singer-songwriter, music editor, author, and podcast host. He began producing albums with Resurrection Life Church in Grandville, Michigan, in 2002, which led to his signing with Integrity Music. In 2003, Gungor released his debut solo album Bigger Than My Imagination, featuring the Dove Award-nominated single "Friend of God". He later formed the Michael Gungor Band and released several albums, including All I Need is Here (2007) and Ancient Skies (2008). The band, renamed simply "Gungor", achieved significant recognition with the title track and its album, Beautiful Things, which earned Grammy nominations for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album and Best Gospel Song in 2011. Gungor announced the end of their journey as a band in early 2019.
