Biography

Delirious? was a Christian rock band formed in 1992 in West Sussex, England. The group initially consisted of Tim Jupp and Martin Smith, who met while working at an old studio in the area. They later joined forces with Stew Smith, Stuart Garrard, and Jon Thatcher to form Delirious?. The band's early performances were part of a series called Cutting Edge, organized by the Arun Community Church. By 1996, they had released several EPs and gained significant local popularity. Delirious? achieved commercial success with their debut studio album King Of Fools in 1997, which was certified platinum. The album included notable singles such as "White Ribbon Day", "Deeper" (which reached number 20 on the UK charts), and "Promise". Following this breakthrough, Delirious? signed with EMI and Virgin Group for distribution in the United States. Their subsequent albums Mezzamorphis (1999) and Glo (2000) further solidified their presence in the music scene. The band's focus shifted towards Contemporary Christian Music from 2003 onwards, with notable releases including World Service (2003), The Mission Bell (2005), and Kingdom of Comfort (2008). Delirious? also engaged in humanitarian efforts, particularly in Bombay. The band's final performance took place on November 29, 2009, at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, marking their official disbandment.
