Melotron is a German synthpop and future pop group formed in 1995 by Andy Krüger, Edgar Slatnow and Kay Hildebrandt. The trio began performing at a young age in Germany, choosing to sing in German rather than English, which set them apart in the local scene. Their first breakthrough came with the single "Dein Meister" (1998) released under Zoth Ommog, followed by the debut album Mörderwerk (1999), which entered alternative charts and earned a supporting slot on Front 242âs Re:Boot tour. In 2000 the band released the EP E.P. Sode 3 and the album Fortschritt, marking a shift toward a more experimental sound and a new partnership with Bloodline Records. Subsequent releases Weltfrieden (2002), Sternenstaub (2003) and Cliché (2005) expanded their audience across Europe, the United States, Canada, Israel and South America, and were distributed by Metropolis Records. The 2007 album Propaganda featured the single "Das Herz" (2007) and included tracks sung in English. After a period of reduced activity, Melotron released Werkschau (2014) and Für alle (2018) under SPV, maintaining a presence in gothic and electroâindustrial festivals such as WaveâGotikâTreffen and M'era Luna.
