Biography

Bim Skala Bim, an American ska band formed in Boston in 1983, drew inspiration from England's two-tone movement and artists like The Clash, UB40, and Bob Marley. Their debut album, Bim Skala Bim, was released in 1986 and featured on the cover of CMJ. Throughout their career, they released notable albums including Boston Bluebeat (1987), Tuba City (1988), How's It Goin'? (1990), and Bones (1991). In 1997, the band embarked on a nationwide Boston on the Road tour with Dropkick Murphys and The Mighty Bosstones. Bim Skala Bim won ten Boston Music Awards and eight Boston Phoenix Reader's Poll awards. They went on hiatus in 2002 but reformed to release Chet's Last Call in 2013.
