Biography

Matthew Perryman Jones, born Matthew Jones on December 25, 1973, in the United States of America, is an American singer-songwriter. He began his music career in 1997 with public performances at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, Georgia, and released his debut solo album Nowhere Else But Here in 2000 after moving to Nashville. His 2006 album Throwing Punches in the Dark, produced by Neilson Hubbard, marked a shift towards pop rock from his earlier folk/Americana sound. Jones gained significant attention when "Save You" from his 2008 album Swallow the Sea was featured on an episode of Kyle XY and appeared in numerous North American prime-time television shows. His subsequent albums included Land of the Living (2012) and The Waking Hours (2018).
