Blood Has Been Shed is an American metalcore band formed in 1997 from Granby, Connecticut. Initially known as Release in 1993, the group evolved through several names before settling on Blood Has Been Shed at the end of 1997. Their debut album, I Dwell On Thoughts Of You, was self-released in 1998 and later picked up by Ferret Music. The band released two more full-length albums: Novella of Uriel (2001) and Spirals (2003), both through Ferret Music. Blood Has Been Shed's activity slowed significantly due to members' commitments to other bands, notably Killswitch Engage, and they were generally considered inactive since 2005.
