U.K. singer and model Amanda Louise Smith, known professionally as Mandy Smith, was born on July 17, 1970, in England, who gained attention in the mid-1980s for her relationship with Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman. Smith's music career began when she signed with Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW), after Pete Burns from Dead or Alive recommended her to pop impresario Pete Waterman. Her first single, "I Just Can't Wait", was released in 1987 and, though it did not chart well in the UK, became a hit in several European countries. Smith's debut album, Mandy, followed in 1988 and included notable tracks such as "Positive Reaction" and "Boys And Girls". Despite her success abroad, Smith struggled to achieve significant chart success in her home country. Her final single, a cover of the Human League hit "Don't You Want Me", was released in 1989 but promotion was cut short due to health issues. Throughout her career, Smith also worked as a model for fashion designers including Katharine Hamnett.
