Kiran Gandhi, known professionally as Madame Gandhi, is an Indian-American electronic music artist, drummer, singer, and activist. She graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in mathematics and political science before earning an MBA from Harvard University. In 2015, Madame Gandhi founded her eponymous group, releasing her debut EP Voices the following year, which included the singles "Her", "The Future is Female" and "Yellow Sea". The EP featured collaborations with Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards and Joe Newman of Alt-J. In 2018, she performed at the Dinah Shore festival. Madame Gandhi has also been a prominent activist for women's rights, notably running the London Marathon in 2015 without menstrual sanitary protection to raise awareness about period stigma.
