Mad at the World, a Christian rock band from Southern California, was formed in 1987 by Roger Rose, his brother Randy Rose, and Mike Pendleton. Their debut album, Mad at the World, released that same year, featured a synthpop style influenced by bands like Tears for Fears and Depeche Mode. In 1988, they released their second album, Flowers in the Rain. The band's musical style shifted to hard rock with Seasons of Love (1990), featuring Brent Gordon on guitar. Mike Pendleton and Brent Gordon left the band in 1992. The Ferris Wheel (1993) marked a shift to power pop, featuring Ben Jacobs on guitar and Mike Link on bass. Their final studio album before disbanding, The Dreamland Cafe, was released in 1995. The band broke up in 1998 but reunited in 2017.
