Biography

Code of Ethics was an American contemporary Christian music ensemble from Jacksonville established in 1988. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by Europop and synth-pop and for the song "Something Real" reaching Number 1 on the Christian radio charts. The ensemble was founded by Barry Blaze and initially included the musician Eric Switzer and the musician Mark Tanner. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous cassette recording Code of Ethics (1990) which led to a contract with the label R.E.X. Records. They achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Visual Paradox (1991). Code of Ethics achieved professional recognition for signing with the label ForeFront Records in 1993 and releasing the studio recording Code of Ethics (1993). Their discography included the studio recording Arms Around the World (1995), which received the Album Design of the Year award from the Academy of Christian Music, and the studio recording Soulbait (1997). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for receiving a GMA Dove Award nomination for the song "Hallelujah 2000" (1999). They achieved professional recognition for resuming activity to release the studio recording Lost in Egypt (2009). The group became inactive in 2014.
