Sophie Morgan Howarth, known professionally as Luvcat, was born in 1996 in Merseyside, Liverpool, United Kingdom. She is a singer and guitarist who initially gained prominence under her real name, Sophie Morgan. After meeting Simon Jones of the Verve at age 16, she began recording music in his Chester studio. Her first single "Marionette" was released in 2016, followed by her debut EP Annie in October 2017. In 2018, Morgan released her second EP Sons & Daughters, which received critical acclaim for its simplicity and vocal quality. She continued to release music under her real name until March 2020 with the EP Marmalade. In 2023, Howarth formed Luvcat, an alternative rock/dark pop project inspired by "The Love Cats" by The Cure. Under this moniker, she released several singles including "Matador", "He's My Man", and "Love & Money". Her debut album as Luvcat, Vicious Delicious, was released on October 31st, 2025.
