Biography

Heartworms is a project created by English musician and singer Josephine Orme. Originally from the Brixton area of South London, she began performing in local pubs before moving to London, where she developed the Heartworms project. Influenced by the post-punk and gothic currents of the early 1980s, she adds a touch of electronica and industrial soundscapes. After the release of a debut single entitled "What Can I Do" in 2020, subsequent releases appeared under the Speedy Wunderground label, such as the A Comforting Notion EP (2023), followed by the four-track To Be Doing Anything in 2024. That same year saw the release of the singles "Jacked", "Warplane" and "Extraordinary Wings", included on Heartworms' debut album, Glutton for Punishment, released in 2025.
