Twin Tribes, an American dark wave band, was formed in 2017 in Brownsville, Texas. The duo consists of Luis Navarro and Joel Niño Jr., who met in their hometown. Navarro, born in Matamoros, Mexico, handles guitars, lead vocals, synth, and drum machines, while Niño, from Los Fresnos, Texas, plays bass, synth, and provides backing vocals. Their musical influences include 1980s gothic rock, post-punk, synth-pop, and new wave genres, with notable mentions of The Cure and Depeche Mode, as well as Latin American bands like Caifanes and Soda Stereo. Twin Tribes released their debut album Shadows in January 2018. Their single "Fantasmas" garnered over a million views on a video streaming platform shortly after its release. Subsequent albums include Ceremony (2019) and Pendulum (2024). They also released a remix album, Altars, in 2021.
