Biography

Luke Combs was born on March 2, 1990 in Huntersville, North Carolina. From an early age, he pursued his two passions, American soccer and music. But it was for the latter that he dropped out of school, just a month before completing his four-year degree at Appalachian State University. Determined to pursue a career in country music, he delivered his first EP, The Way She Rides in February 2014, followed by a second Can I Get an Outlaw . The first thrill comes with the release of the single "Hurricane" from the third EP, This One's for You. The track sold 15,000 copies in its first week. A first studio album follows, adopting the same name as the last EP, and success is just around the corner, with a top spot in the country charts. The five singles that followed were equally well received, including "Beautiful Crazy", his biggest hit. Against this favorable backdrop, he releases The Prequel EP in 2019 , all of whose tracks find their way onto the Billboard Country chart, most notably "Beer Never Broke My Heart", which enters the Billboard Hot 100 at #22. As August 2019 marks the... 44th week spent by his album This One's for You on the country charts, he announces the release of his second opus What You See Is What You Get, which hits stores in November and immediately hits #1 in the U.S., Australia and Canada. Growin' Up followed three years later, reaching #1 on the U.S. country charts, and #2 in the U.S., Australia and Canada. Highlights included "Doin' This" (#26), "The Kind of Love We Make" (#8) and "Going, Going, Gone " (#23). The musician followed this up in 2023 with the album Gettin' Old (no. 2), where he covered Tracy Chapman with "Fast Car" , which earned him a second place in the American charts. A year later, Luke Combs is back with a new studio album, Fathers & Sons, which reaches No. 6 in the US charts and No. 14 in the UK. Her single "The Man He Sees in Me" climbs to number 39 in the U.S., while the song "Ain't No Love in Oklahoma", part of the soundtrack to the film Twisters , reaches number 23. Her sixth album, The Way I Am (2026), featuring a duet with Alison Krauss, is buoyed by the success of "Back in the Saddle", "Days Like These" and "Sleepless in a Hotel Room".
