Biography

Country music singer-songwriter Riley Green was born on October 18, 1988, in Jacksonville, Alabama. His musical journey began when he started performing alongside his grandfather, who managed a bar in their hometown. These experiences allowed him to refine his skills as both a songwriter and a performer before he ventured out as a solo artist. His first significant exposure to the public came through his participation in the CMT reality show Redneck Island, where he went on to win the show's fifth season in 2015. His debut EP, Outlaws Like Us, was released in August 2017, marking the beginning of his music career. He later signed with Big Machine Records to release his first full-length album, Different 'Round Here, in 2019. Prior to the album's release, his single “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” garnered attention for its lyrical critique of pop country music, with the song achieving significant success, charting in both the US and Canada and earning a 2x Platinum certification. Riley Green's musical journey continued with the release of "In a Truck Right Now" in September 2019, which reached number 3 on the US Heatseekers chart, followed with "Get That Man a Beer," which climbed to number 8, seeing him embark shortly after on a worldwide tour alongside country music icon Brad Paisley. In recognition of his talent and contributions, the Academy of Country Music honored Riley Green with the New Male Artist of the Year Award for 2019. His next EP, Behind the Bar spawned Top 40 single “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”, and Riley Green returned in 2023 with "Different 'Round Here" (with Luke Combs) from sophomore album Ain’t My Last Rodeo, which landed at number 15 on the US Country charts. In April 2024, he returned with the Way Out Here EP, which featured seven tracks including his cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City”. Mutual collaborations follows with Ella Langley, on “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don't Mind If I Do”, before the release of his third album Don't Mind If I Do (2024), also including a duet with Luke Bryan.
