Biography
Love/Hate, an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 1985 by guitarist Jon E. Love, bassist Skid Rose, drummer Joey Gold, and vocalist Jizzy Pearl. The group quickly gained early exposure when a track appeared on the Critters 2 soundtrack in 1987 and a version of "She's an Angel" was used in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. In 1988, the band secured a contract with Columbia Records, and their debut album Blackout in the Red Room was released in 1990, reaching number 154 on the Billboard 200. They toured with hard rock acts like Dio, AC/DC, and Ozzy Osbourne, and the single "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?" received MTV rotation. They released Wasted in America (1992) before being dropped by Columbia, leading them to self-finance their next album, Let's Rumble (1993). After a period of side projects and sporadic performances, the original lineup reconvened in 2007 for a fullâalbum performance of Blackout in the Red Room.
